The Honda–Ohio State partnership is a model of industry–university collaboration, driving innovation, advancing education, and fueling workforce development for 25 years. Together, Honda and Ohio State have transformed research and learning experiences for students, supported faculty expertise, and strengthened the mobility industry in Ohio and beyond.

Our Mission

Ohio State’s Honda partnership began in 1988 with a $6M endowment, now over $60M, funding transportation research and talent. Anchored by the Transportation Research Center, it spans joint research, academics and workforce development. 

The Honda–Ohio State partnership drives innovation and workforce growth in Ohio, supporting 400+ research projects and hands-on student opportunities. Honda hires 100+ students each year, while major investments in scholarships, faculty and research centers—like the Battery Cell Research and Demonstration Center—advance next‑generation technologies.
